This design is a great example of a four post attached pergola picture that displays contrasting colors and provides ample shade for a stone patio. As you can see in the photo, it adds to the colonial style of the home and provides an elegant, finished look to the back yard.
The dark stain on the roof boards makes the design pop out from the white frame of the house and accentuates the curve in the center of the beam and the angles of the cut edges. The post spacing is fairly tight with four across instead of the typical two and the rounded shapes and flared out ends make them look like classic columns. The slats placed on top of the rafters are relatively small with no overhang and straight edges drawing the eye more to the columns and rafters.
Small details that really accentuate the customized pergola designed especially for this home.
